Vespucci Adventures evolved from our passion for long distance walking and cycling. Day to day worries fall by the wayside, the spirit being freed by the shared experience and sense of challenge. We want to inspire a new generation to follow in our footsteps by giving you all you need to get out there and to put together your own adventure.
Amerigo Vespucci was a 16th century Italian explorer and cartographer. Less well known than some of his contemporaries, nonetheless he is credited with discovering “the Americas”. We would love our business to embody his sense of adventure, inspiration and love of maps and to share that with our customers. Hence Vespucci Adventures!
I run language courses in coffee shops in and around Somerset. I teach through conversation as this builds confidence and helps to put students in realistic situations. Each group is treated according to its individual needs and the courses develop organically as a result.
In addition to these courses I offer a monthly online magazine which arrives straight in your inbox. So no paper wasted! The magazine covers a range of topics from grammar to cultural differences, jokes, art, sport, music and an up -to -date article from La Corriere Della Sera, one of Italy’s most important newspapers. This is great for anyone learning Italian and for Italian learners of all levels.
We run study holidays in the beautiful Byzantine city of Ravenna, on the East Coast of Northern Italy. Ravenna has an extraordinary history, sporting fourth century mosaics, Dante’s tomb and some wonderful architecture from the Byzantine period, as well as being only ten minutes by car from the sea!
If you suddenly need to cook for a dinner party or as a fun and different birthday gift, my Italian cookery lessons on Skype can be done in either Italian or English….I learnt from the best… from a real Italian ‘mamma’ .
